The Theme for the 2008 show was "A vibrant weekend in Paraguay!" the following was the description posted in the Folklorama travel Guide 2008:

Come and experience a vibrant weekend in Paraguay filled with traditional and contemporary dance. Or internationally renowned ballet and musicians direct from Paraguay along with our local perfomers will bring you the remarkable sound of the harp and energetic dances. Not to mention the famous bottle dance where a performer can balance up to 15 bottles on her head.
Indulge your tastebuds with a variety of hearty dishes including Asado (BBQ ribs) with Mandioca, Empanadas, Milanesas, Chipas and Sopa Paraguaya. Treat yourself to a selection of desserts or wrap up your meal with a thirst quenching Paraguayan beer or try the flavour of our sugarcane rye, Aristocrata.
